This book addresses two areas of feminist scholarship--the recognition of violence against women and the endeavor to make visible the lives of women in prison. Beginning with personal accounts of trouble with the law and using a combination of socialist and standpoint feminism, the collection presents the stories of 24 incarcerated women.
