On July 21, 2017 Komatsu UK celebrated its 30th anniversary. We were engaged in establishment of the company and flew there from Japan and joined the ceremony with our old British colleagues and renewed our old friendship. More than 30 British had been working for Komatsu UK since the Company started. We made up our mind to write on the story of our challenges in Komatsu UK with our British old colleagues during founding period. We worked together so hard and we must talk about it to the next generation who will support Komatsu. Fortunately, late Komiya-san, the first MD left his memoire. This booklet is a record by those who were engaged in foundation of Komatsu UK, filled with challenges. Japanese felt pride to be selected for founders of the first European Plant. British found challenging jobs in a Fareast company, suddenly appearing. As a result, we worked so hard for manufacturing our machines as one team. Now we are aged, but memories are left in each one’s mind as most precious and sweetest one.
