This first edition of "Japanese Films & Festivals" features more than 2,000 works (feature-length films, short films, documentaries, specials, and sitcoms) by Japanese filmmakers. It was compiled to address a need for film festival translators and interpreters to have a resource to aid translation/identification of, among other things:(1)Film festivals and awards worldwide;(2)Works by Japanese filmmakers;(3)Works shot in Japan by foreign filmmakers;(4)Film cast and crew positions; and(5)Japan’s film commissions.Due to the limitations of time and space, in this first edition, priority has been given to filmmakers with a connection to Hiroshima, films shot in Hiroshima, feature-length films, and individually directed works. Note: The English titles of Japanese works featured in this edition fall into one of the two following categories.(1) Widely used English titles, such as Goto Toshihiro’s:* 2020おかあさんの被爆ピアノHiroshima Piano* 2019美しすぎる議員Too Beautiful to be a Politician(2) Reliable English translations of widely used Romanized titles, such as Saimura Kazuhiko’s:* 1968ヒロシマの証人Hiroshima Shonin [lit.
