We had an unforgettable stay at Branchera Villa in the heart of the Japanese countryside. We were met by a very helpful staff who showed us around the premises which was well equipped and exquisitely renovated while still retaining its original structure from the 19th century. In the evening we were served a delicious traditional local dish of “Nabe” which we all ate together in the living room, after which we were treated with a bath in a huge ceramic bathtub which would easily fit the whole family. A highlight of our stay was the surrounding Asuka village. It’s quiet, picturesque, and like taken straight out from My Neighbor Totoro. We rented a couple of bicycles which let us explore the historical sites in the area and learn about the origins of Japanese civilization. It's a perfect place for a family or a couple looking for an authentic adventure into the historical countryside of Japan.
